I was fortunate enough to second-shoot a wedding at The Shard in the Autumn. This wedding exuded understated glamour! The ceremony and reception were all hosted at the Shangri-La which, by day, affords some of the most breath-taking panoramic views across the City and, by night, turns into a romantic ready-made skyline backdrop.
It was a fairly small and intimate Wedding but what it lacked in numbers, it more than made up for in elegance and the Bride & Groom were more than happy to spend a little extra time getting some photographs that they will cherish forever.
Despite the season, there were patches of blue sky and the sun did its very best! The Golden Hour light was absolutely beautiful so after the ceremony we escaped with Bride & Groom out into the City to get some portrait shots. The sun sets rapidly in October but the bride and groom were on board to make it to Tower Bridge just in time for that magical Golden Hour…and trust me when I tell you that Golden Hour in the City really is magical.

Tower Bridge delivered the goods. With tooting car horns and cheers of congratulations from the public, the newly weds were in their own little bubble and whilst the rest of London whirled on past, we froze a few moments in time for the happy couple.
Upon our return to The Shard it was a perfect confetti moment and shortly after dusk fell it all felt very cosy behind the glass. With the City skyline as a backdrop we created some timeless silhouette photos. The undertone of the day was understated glamour. If this is your style, take a look at my portfolio.
